Sambuddha joined the lab in Fall 2015. His research interests included control systems, cyber-physical systems, dynamics and optimization, and deep and machine learning. His work included anomaly detection in large-scale cyber-physical systems and the use of sparsity-promoting dynamic mode decomposition to extract characteristic features and dynamics of complex fluid flows (e.g., combustion flames) from snapshot data. His doctoral work led to a first-author paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). He enjoys playing piano and chess, biking, and shooting.
He graduated from the SCS Lab in 2019 and was a Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Media Lab, advised by Dr. Pratik Shah. He is now a Senior Research Data Scientist at Bayer R&D.
Research interests: Machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, generative AI, neural network interpretability
