High School RA, Young Engineers and Scientists (YES) Program

Matthew Hopkins, a student at Abraham Lincoln High School, spent six weeks in the lab over the summer through the Young Engineers and Scientists (YES) Program to explore his interest in engineering. He worked on the TurtleBot, programming and testing RGB color values for automated color detection with the robot's vision system while it moved. Interested in robotics, he hoped to join a program at Iowa State that would let him build, program, and test robotic systems.
