Jaydeep joined the lab in Spring 2019, co-advised by Dr. Soumik Sarkar and Dr. Adarsh Krishnamurthy. His research interests were deep learning, image processing, and their applications, and he worked on deep learning for topology optimization; his M.S. thesis was titled "Deep Learning Frameworks for Structural Topology Optimization." Outside of academics, he enjoys music, cooking, and traveling.
He graduated from the SCS Lab in December 2020 and continued as a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University under Dr. Adarsh Krishnamurthy and Dr. Anwesha Sarkar, working on 3D deep learning, including protein structure reconstruction from AFM images. He is currently a Research Scientist – AI at the GE Vernova Advanced Research Center.
Research interests: Deep learning, computer vision, 3D computer vision, AI for engineering
