Amitangshu was a graduate student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University, jointly supervised by Prof. Chinmay Hegde and Prof. Soumik Sarkar. During his undergraduate studies, he completed industrial internships at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Siemens India Pvt. Ltd., and in summer 2015 he was a summer research intern at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He joined Dr. Soumik Sarkar's lab in Fall 2018, where his research interests included deep learning, computer vision, generative modeling, and adversarial learning, with applications to autonomous vehicles. His other interests include traveling, playing soccer and table tennis, hiking, and reading comics.
He graduated with an M.S. in Computer Engineering in Fall 2019 and is now a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, working with Prof. Kaushik Roy in the Nano(Neuro) Electronics Research Laboratory. His current research focuses on scene understanding, robust deep learning, and multimodal models.
Research interests: Scene understanding, robust deep learning, multimodal models
